SAFETY FOR SCHOOLS
Children are the community’s most precious assets, and Kelly believes schools should be an environment where children can learn and be safe while learning. Kelly researched and learned other school districts had successfully secured resource officers in all of their schools. She reached out to the security director in one of those schools and learned they generated a memorandum of understanding between the city, schools, and police department, so she is working to accomplish this in our city. This does not require a tax increase. Kelly has Mayor Pribonic’s support. Kelly enjoys working with children in Stow schools as a substitute teacher and volunteer. She also volunteers in the children's ministry at Christ Community Chapel.
UNITY FOR COMMUNITY
Kelly will work to achieve unity in both council and the city through collaboration, cooperation, and communication. This can be done by listening to neighbors and those in Ward 2 to ensure decisions are made for the betterment of our city.
INCREASING INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS
Kelly will implement forward thinking to improve and maintain our roads, parks, utilities and amenities. Kelly will also support economic development opportunities.
ACHIEVING FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Kelly’s MBA in finance and marketing and 12 years of experience with a Fortune 50 company will help her achieve fiscal responsibility. Supporting local businesses, while also attracting new ones, and generating top line growth will create revenue for the city and take pressure off instituting residential tax increases.
My husband, Jeremy, and I have lived in Stow the past nine years. We chose to live in Stow because it is a wonderful place to raise our two young children and to be near family. My parents, brother and his family, and sister and her family all reside in Stow. I care about the people in Stow, young and old.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Math and English Education from Ashland University, as well as an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Walden University. I completed my graduate studies in the evening, while working full time as a Therapeutic Specialty Representative for Pfizer, a Fortune 50 company, where I worked for over twelve years. Because of my passion for school safety, I am currently a PTA member and volunteer, as well as a substitute teacher in the Stow School District.
I am determined to make Stow City Schools safer with the addition of several resource officers, so there is a resource officer at every Stow City School. Last year, I began researching the best way to do this and learned another school district had successfully secured resource officers at all of their schools, so I reached out to their security director. I learned how they collaborated efforts and generated a memorandum of understanding between their city, schools, and police department. This does not require a tax increase. I have the support of the Mayor and the Law Director. They also care about the people and children in this city.
I also want to improve the infrastructure, including storm water management and road maintenance through forward thinking. Finally, I want to create a community that supports our small businesses and attracts the right new businesses and restaurants to Stow, so we can generate top line growth.
Together we can make a difference in this city. Let’s be a city that does the right thing at the right time. Let’s be proactive, and not reactive. Let’s be a community people want to move into, because we are investing in the right things. I sincerely thank you for your consideration on Tuesday, November 7th. Please contact me if you have any thoughts or questions. I hope to meet you soon, if I have not already.
